Chitosan's main ingredient is polysaccharide, which can be found in the shells of crabs and shrimps. If you ask Chitosan sellers, they will tell you that Chitosan is the most effective fat-binder pill that ever exist. Actually, this is not true in most cases. Polysaccharide is not clinically proven at all. In overall, Chitosan's effectivity is still in a big question.
Explanation: Chitosan lost its popularity a few years ago after US expert researches questioned the ingredients in this product. They believe Chitosan is only effective to help plant's growth rate. Chitosan also has another controversial story. It is used as a diet control for dogs. How about humans? The question is still hanging up there, few claim this product does work, but the others claim this product doesn't work at all.
Side effects: There is no clinical studies ever made on humans so we never heard about its side effects. Animals ever tested by Chitosan and it worked for them but humans are different. Because there is no real studies on humans, we can't tell you what are Chitosan's side effects. Some people said Chitosan may cause sellulite for its consumers. If you are one of the victims, treatment for sellulite is absolutely needed.
Effectivity: Chitosan receives too many critics. It means Chitosan is not the right product and probably unsafe to be consumed. I think there are plenty of other choices like Proactol or Alli which are better than Chitosan. If you want to try Chitosan, it's up to you. However, I suggest you to test other products.
Recommendation: None have tried it then claimed that Chitosan does work. Maybe there are few people who have lose weight with Chitosan but this product is quite risky. There is no evidence that polysaccharide can bind our fat intake. I suggest you to find other diet products.
